Samuel Donkoh in 1997, Cedar Point Chemist limited was birthed on the idea that consumers should not have to choose between quality and cost in picking their health products. Cedar point’s core is to bring consumers the highest quality self-care solutions while still maintaining an affordable price point. For nearly 30 years, Cedar Point Chemist Limited has stood as a registered Pharmaceutical Company, with a main a Wholesale and Retail Pharmacy. Our core activities canter around the Importation, Marketing, Sales and distribution of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices. We empower Ghanaian consumers to proactively prevent or treat conditions that can be self-managed, while enhancing the treatments provided by hospitals with prescribed medications. Our strength is seen in our comprehensive product portfolio of over 20 products, and extensive supply chain and distribution expertise. This value proposition has led to many impactful partnerships and affiliations with the likes of multinationals (Hoffman La Roche Switzerland), Government and private hospitals, retail pharmacy chains, wholesalers, among others.

    With an unwavering passion for pharmaceutical excellence and national health advancement, Pharm. Dr. Samuel Kow Donkoh stands at the forefront of Ghana’s healthcare industry as a visionary entrepreneur, seasoned pharmacist, and dynamic leader. He is the Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Cedar Point Chemist Ltd., a growing force in pharmaceutical distribution, innovation, and quality healthcare delivery. Under his leadership, Cedar Point has become synonymous with trusted products, strategic growth, and service that reflects a deep-rooted passion for people’s well-being.
    Currently serving as the President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH), Dr. Donkoh plays a pivotal role in shaping pharmaceutical policy, education, and standards across the country.

    Currently serving as the President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH), Dr. Donkoh plays a pivotal role in shaping pharmaceutical policy, education, and standards across the country. He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from KNUST, a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), and an Executive MBA from the University of Ghana Business School, combining scientific expertise with executive-level business acumen.

    Before founding Cedar Point, he served as Regional Manager at Roche (Pi), where he honed his extensive knowledge in pharmaceutical marketing and multinational operations. His strategic experience spans both private sector innovation and public sector policy, having also served as:

    • Immediate Past President of the Pharmaceutical Importers and Wholesalers Association (PIWA)
    • Former National Executive Member of the Ghana National Chamber of Pharmacy (GNCoP)
    • Board Member of Gyaman Senior High School
    • Immediate Past President of Winneba Secondary School Old Students Association (WOSA)
    • Active Member of St. Augustine’s Past Students Union (APSU)

    His impact goes beyond business. Dr. Donkoh sits on the Governing Board of the Pharmacy Council of Ghana, the Ghana College of Pharmacists, and is a Member of the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) for the Global Fund, where he contributes to global health initiatives. He also offers global insight as a Council Member of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and as part of the International Advisory Board of the West African Centre for Cellular Biology of Infectious Pathogens (WACCBIP).
